“Double Play Flute and Tuba” will be guest musicians at Grace on Easter Sunday. Double Play flute and tuba (www.doubleplayfluteandtuba.com) tours the upper Midwest in April of 2010 with appearances scheduled from Sioux City to Sioux Falls to Sisseton!
Featuring music from Bach to Broadway they will be entertaining and educating at schools and communities primarily throughout the state of South Dakota thanks in large part to sponsorship via the South Dakota Arts Council.

Amy Ridings, flutist, is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory. Formerly a member of Quintessence Chamber Ensemble, she has performed as soloist with the New American Chamber Ensemble and the Bach Aria Group. Patrick Sciannella, tubaist, holds both a BM and MM from the Eastman School of Music. A former member of the Southwest and Genesee Brass Quintets, he has also performed with the Chautauqua and Phoenix Symphony Orchestras.
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Double Play celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2010. Active as a touring ensemble since 1990, the “world’s only professional flute and tuba duo” is counted in author David Cutler’s recent release: “The Savvy Musician.” Recent highlights of their performance resume include collaborations with Arizona State University , Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and the Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh.
